Fall 2010
Those of you who have been to the shop in the last month will be glad to know that the road construction is finished!! Yippee!! Boy what a mess that was. The landscaping is going in across the street, and I'm enjoying watching the progress being made. The latest update on Doc Bernsteins is that they will be opening in April 2011. What will we do with ice cream right across the street??? Rooney's Irish Pub opened in July and is getting rave reviews. I'll keep you posted on any other new developments.
We will be starting a new Block of the Month in October - Aunt Grace Circle of Friends. This quilt is made with 30's reproduction prints and it is a beauty! Terrie is making our shop sample right now, so you can sign up any time. We will also have a once a month class for anyone who would like help. There are lots of different techniques in this quilt and the blocks are fabulous.
Also coming soon is the Sand in My Shoes collection by McKenna Ryan. The patterns will not be available until the end of the month, but this is a beach theme quilt that is beautiful.
Recently Hoffman Fabrics came out with coordinated batik fat quarter bundles, and Brenda Henning has a book Fat Quarter Cut-Ups with quilts designed for these bundles. This is similar to her Strip Therapy books using the bali pops. The color combinations are great! Coming in September will be a whole new group of bali pops and Brenda's latest book Strip Therapy 6. I've seen pictures of the new bali pops, and they are going to be fabulous!
If you are ready to start your Halloween, Fall or Christmas quilts, we have an ample supply of fabrics to choose from. Two of the new Halloween fabrics are "glow in the dark". How about a pillowcase out of those!
The Fall 2010 issue of Quilts and More has arrived at the shop. This is a fun magazine with lots of ideas for all kinds of projects.
We have two great new classes coming up - "I'd be Quiltin' Tote" and "Buckets Gone Wild!". Now is the time to be working on projects for Christmas giving, and these two projects make perfect gifts. Both classes will be taught by Bobbie Jones. For photos and all the details see the website or come by the shop.
Well,
I hope your summer was fun and you are ready to get back into the groove
of quilting, quilting, quilting! We have lots of new fabrics, books
and patterns to inspire you, so come on by and take a look.
Happy
quilting!
